Wal-Mart Stores Inc. is adding customer reviews to its Web site. The Bentonville, Ark., retail giant announced Thursday that customers can now submit ratings and write reviews of all products offered on Walmart.com, including online-only items as well as products available both online and in stores.
Wal-Mart began testing the feature in June.
The company said nearly 75 percent of its 130 million customers are active online. Shoppers can submit a review by viewing a product page on Walmart.com or by e-mail invitation sent a few weeks after they have placed and received an order. Customer reviews have been a longstanding feature at online retailers like Amazon.com Inc.
Product reviews are published within about five days of submission.
