Punj Lloyd to set up fluoride plant in Abu Dhabi

New Delhi: Simon Carves Ltd, a subsidiary of Punj Lloyd Limited (PLL), a global EPC services provider in energy and infrastructure domains, plans to set up a complex to produce fluoride in Abu Dhabi and has signed an agreement with Gulf Fluor for the establishment of a plant for the project.

The complex would be built as part of the second phase of industrial city of Abu Dhabi (ICADII), Punj Lloyd said here.

The zone will have separate plants for production of anhydrous hydrofluoric acid (AHF) and aluminium fluoride (AIF3).

The Fluorides Complex will be built in the second phase of the Industrial City of Abu Dhabi (ICADII) and this project will serve the growing demand for aluminium fluoride, an important additive in the production of aluminium, in the region.

The complex will initially have 60,000 tonnes per annum of AlF3 and 10,000 tonnes per annum of AHF and is scheduled for completion in 2009.
