Dubai, The Dh400-million Dana Mall, an upmarket 150,000 square foot shopping complex being built in Ajman, will open by the end of 2008 in Ajman.

This announcement made during a dinner party in Grand Hyatt hotel in Dubai where a big gathering of business people, agents and franchises in the UAE, besides media representatives, a presentation on Dana Mall layout, interior, shopping concepts, has been given to the audience.

Sultan Khalaf bin Ghedayer, Dana Mall Executive manager said the project is the maiden retail and shopping investment for his company.

'The mall, whose investments are the largest as far as shopping centers in Ajman are concerned, coincides with the fast-paced positive economic developments witnessed in Ajman over the past three years, by virtue of which the Emirate is now successfully launching multi-diversified investments in areas of tourism and real estate,' he said.

Located in the heart of the Emirate in Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Road that links together Ajman with neighboring emirates, Dana Mall will provide Ajman residents and their neighbors with an exquisite shopping destination that enjoys a one of a kind architectural design and state-of-the- art technology catering for different tastes and needs.

"The emirate is now boasting the fastest growth rates in the UAE and is on the threshold of an economic U-turn that manifests itself in the launch of projects worth tens of billions of dirhams," he continued, citing the construction of three five-star hotels and several large mixed-use and residential developments.

Early indications show there is strong demand by retailers to establish a presence in Ajman, he said. This was reinforced by the positive reaction the development received by visitors to the Middle East Shopping Centres Fair in Dubai, he added.

The Mall consists of three floors and features more than 200 retail outlets, including costumes, cosmetics, accessories, leather products, besides a supermarket and a food court containing finest cuisines delivered by world-class restaurants. There is also a kid's area enjoying top safety standards. Also featuring high in the mall are maternity-oriented outlets and shops for those with special difficulties. A spacious 1500-car parking zone is also available.
