ADCOOPS seeks ties with European retailers

{mosimage}Abu Dhabi Co-operative Society (ADCOOPS) announced it is exploring possible strategic agreements with European retailers and manufacturers.  ADCOOPS held meeting with business peers in the UK after attending the Anuga Fine Food Trade Fair in Cologne, Germany.

In five days of show from October 13 to 17, the ADCOOPS team met with several retailers to explore synergic buying and strategic sourcing relationships. "We are looking for international and regional retail partners who would like to take advantage of the synergies," Al Arshi said.
Faisal Al Arshi, Deputy General Manager of ADCOOPS, said, "Our discussions also centred on management know-how related to multiple store formats. International industry events give us the opportunity to network with leading industry players and share sector knowledge particularly from the leading retailers around the world. As the UAE's leading retail chain, we cater to a wide mix of tastes to meet the needs of people from Europe, Asia and other parts of the world. These interactions and stronger relationships with our partners abroad will help us serve our multi-nation customers much better."

ADCOOPS currently commands an estimated 43 percent share of the Abu Dhabi retail market. Working under the concept of "all under one roof," ADCOOPS' retail chain includes several Abu Dhabi Co-operative supermarkets in the capital city, the Mina Center in Abu Dhabi, Mega Mall and Megamart in Sharjah and Al Ain.
