Ever-Pro expects RM10mil turnover from Buffalo Lifestyle chain

Petaling Jaya:  Ever-Pro Sdn Bhd, the sole distributor of Ni Hsin Corp Bhd's Buffalo brand cookware in Malaysia, expects its Buffalo Lifestyle Corner chain of retail stores to rake in RM10mil turnover next year.

The first two outlets – in Petaling Jaya and Kuala Lumpur – were launched yesterday and the third store would open in Taman Maluri, Cheras, at the end of this month, said deputy general manager Joshua Ong.

The company aimed to open five more stores in USJ, Puchong, Damansara, Klang, and Jalan Ampang by June, he said at the launch of the premier PJ store.

"We will be opening another store in Taman Maluri, Cheras, by the end of October," said deputy general manager Joshua Ong during the launch of its premier Buffalo lifestlye corner at Petaling Jaya on Monday.

He added that the same retail concept store was being launched in Kuchai Lama, Kuala Lumpur, on the same day.

"The estimate total investment for the whole project of Buffalo retailing concept stores is RM3mil. We plan to open another 17 similar concept stores in Penang, Johor, Sabah, and Sarawak by 2009," Ong said.

He added that the company has allocated approximate RM100,000 to RM150,000 per month for advertising and promotional activities for all products under the Buffalo brand.

To date, Ever-Pro had 150 distributors nationwide, Ong said, adding that the company changed to the single-level marketing approach in April 2005. Ever-Pro is projecting revenue of RM25mil for this year.  

Ong also said the stores would launch the Buffalo “Free-series” package comprising a wok, saute pan and three saucepans on Oct 15.

Ni Hsin Resources Bhd executive director Ng Shwu Ching said the introduction of the concept stores would boost Ni Hsin Corp's profile and local market share.

He added that only 12% of its revenue was generated from the local market last year.
